Mambo Tuck Shop
It was short but very sweet (thanks to all the chocolate milk). For four days, the Mambo Tuck Shop made Bondi tolerable.

We all remember tuck shops a little differently, but we all seem to remember them fondly. Even me, and my school tuck shop used to serve half a pie in a bread roll with sauce. It’s that nostalgia for simpler fare that led to the Mambo Tuck Shop. For four days only at the start of 2018, the Tuck Shop popped up in Bondi, bringing nostalgia and choccy milk to the beautiful people.

With food by Pinbone, LP’s Quality Meats and Pure Pops, the menu included Devon sandwiches, beef and Mambo-mite pies and sauce, macadamia and wattleseed slice and flingerlime buns. The space was Mambo’d out by artists Ben Brown, Lauren Webster and Kentaro Yoshida and the vibes were good. Will Mambo do it again? Watch this space, and stay hungry.
